Hammerhead
Thicker
I could dive right off a forty foot cliff
In a gown that I designed
And get tens from all the judges
And a Nobel prize on the side
And it still wouldn't be good enough
For the hammerhead judge that's hiding in my gut
The hammerhead is hiding
And she can't be satisfied
So I'll keep searching
For the hammerhead inside
I cannot blame my history
Though God knows I've tried
I poured salt onto my own wounds
To try to purify
But just when I stop being sore
The hammerhead says
"You've got to try a little more"
The hammerhead keeps pushing
And she can't be satisfied...
BRIDGE
I ply her with drink
But she's back the next day
I talk to my shrink
Maybe hammerhead should pay
I dig up the truth - all the dark stuff
She eats it up
It's never enough
The hammerhead keeps pushing
And she can't be satisfied...
